Acacia
Acacia
tree genus of about 160 species of worldwide and shrubs in the pea family
(Fabaceae) or (Leguminosae). Acacia is a large tree. Acacias are native to
tropical and subtropical regions of the world, particularly Australia (where
they are called wattles) and Africa, where they are well-known landmarks on the
veld and savanna.
Acacia
grows everywhere in Thailand and they are very adaptable, growing well in
almost any condition. In Thailand, they are called “rain trees.” The
trees are often used for erosion control” and in the north of Thailand the
farmer planting acacia tree for resin (wax) production, after the end of these
cycles approximately 25- 30 year they have to cut it down. Acacia wood carving
are popular such as tables, chairs, beds, wardrobes, toys, furniture especially
kitchenware and tableware.
